Hey everyone. I just wanted to give you an update on The Bar Chord Masterclass and where we are with production. It's going to be 12 modules long. We are finishing up the 3rd day of filming today which should get us through module 4, and then I'll enter editing mode. We hope to release these first four modules between Nov. 15th and Dec. 15th ish. It just depends on how fast I can edit the videos.
From there, I hope to film all of the rest of the modules and have them edited by mid-January. It's a lot of work but I know that this is one of the main topics that plagues a lot of guitar players. It's going to help those who have always had trouble with bar chord and those who want to use more than just the basic E and A bar chord shapes to play progressions in new and interesting ways all over the fretboard. I'm excited to get it out there.
The first module is going to be complimentary so everyone will be able to get the basics down. From there students will be able to purchase the remaining modules a la carte for an extremely reasonable price or invest in the entire course. I'm very excited about this because I want there to be something for everyone.
Stay tuned for more updates,
Can't wait for everyone to see what we've been working on!
I'm sure it's going to be another excellent course!
Oh man... I've been on a marathon. Good news is that the first module for the Bar Chord Masterclass is coming out this week. I know this is a big trouble area for many guitar players so I'm very happy for everyone here to start using it! Stay tuned.
Hello Chelsea and Nate,
Just a small practical question :
I have completed your course on another site...I would really like to encourage you guys, is there a module that covers partial bar chords or something that you have not covered in the past.
Jean
Hi @Jean,
Great question about partial bar chords! The good news is that the Bar Chord Masterclass is extremely in-depth and weaves in partial bar chords all throughout. Those who complete the entire course will not only be able to play partial bar chords, but will also know all the notes on the fretboard and master the basics of the CAGED system in order to know how/when to use these partial bar chords.
Feel free to let us know if you'd like any more info.
Hi @Jean Allard Nice to hear from you here. I made sure to include alternate shapes and partial shapes for all of the bar chords covered in the Bar Chord Masterclass. That means that you get full and partial shapes for the E major, E minor, A major, A minor, D major, D minor, C major, C minor, G major, and G minor bar chord shapes. The last module also goes over chord extensions for a lot of the main shapes. (add9, sus2, major 7, minor 7, and dominant 7).
Another couple of big benefits are that we go through memorizing all of the notes on the fretboard and through the course I sneak in a lot of the CAGED system.
