Hi Fam, Now that the Bar Chord Mastercass is completely finished, I just wanted to do a little post to keep you updated on what out plans are for the next couple of months. First off, we are going to be releasing a couple of Christmas songs leading up to the big day, so keep an eye out for those. We are also going to be focusing on doing a large batch of cover songs over the next couple of months! Everyone will have access to these so it should be a lot of fun.
Once we've got a good start on the cover songs, I'm planning on turning my focus to the hopefully huge Fingerstyle Guitar course for the site. Other plans include doing some smaller modules on the basics to round out the fundamental stuff that all guitar players need to build their foundation.
As always, we appreciate your support and welcome any input or constructive feedback is always welcome. You can post here in the forum or email us at support@guitarfam.com
Thanks so much!
P.S. Yes the instrumental album that I've been working on for over a decade is almost done. I'm just waiting on one drum track. ;)
i like to do covers. I’m not sure I have a creative bone in my body yet. I prefer songs I know (remember I’m not a spring chicken) but recently have been forced to learn a few songs I never heard before and now they are in my set list As I like them a lot.
Of course I’ll be waiting on the Fingerstyle course.
I am looking forward to the song tutorials. I like learning new songs and regularly work on learning new songs.
Hey @Nate Savage and @Chelsea Amber - absolutely phenomenal work on the BCM - and although it will take me a while to go through them I am sure it is a very sound investment for many years to come. I am thankful that you guys were able to publish it and I was able to start working on it - at least something went well in 2020 :D
I wish for something similar for Blues - and I would invest in that in a heartbeat whenever it gets published.
Just a minor feedback if you will - pls don't get me wrong: I like the Founder and BCM tags on my profile, but I'd have liked to have the BCM tag 'after' I had completed or made significant progress with the course - not just because I bought it....i prefer to earn my titles ...lol.
Anyway, Happy Holidays and Wish you a fantastic New Year ... See you all in 2021 where we can start anew and forget that 2020 ever happened (except the good parts like GuitarFam, of course) :)
We're so glad you are enjoying the Bar Chord Masterclass! It feels good to finally have it available for everyone. :) And thanks so much for the feedback about the badges. Perhaps we can do a survey or a forum thread to decide how best to move forward on that.
@TRISHUL Thanks or the support. Yeah, the next two big projects for us, as far as packs go, are fingerstyle and the blues. As far as the badge goes, I plan on making a custom badge pretty soon that just says BCM in a nice graphic.
@Nate Savage and @Chelsea Amber I was thinking about @TRISUL wonderful suggestion about the MBC banner and was thinking about another suggestion — what about some type of demonstration we could do to show our progress with the course to upgrade our BC banner to signify our progress? Just a thought and not really sure what the criteria might be ... but it could be kinda cool and also give us something to show for the progress we making. Also it might be a way to help shy people (like me) work on actually playing for other people to see? Just a thought. 😁 Best to all !!!!
Sounds great. I'm constantly learning new songs so I'm really looking forward to these new cover lessons :)
Can't wait for your instrumental album @Nate Savage, that should be a good one.
Hi Guys! Happy Holidays I’ve been keeping to Myself for a bit and reflecting on a few things ...and practicing my Bar Chords! @Nate Savage and @Chelsea Amber thank you both for all your hard work and professional kind encouragement it has actually helped me get through a few tough weeks putting my time and energy into POSITIVE progress... still working on those bar chords. You both are the best and ready for the finger style course or whatever you guys throw our way!!! 😊. @Nate Savage FYI... been working with the super slick thumb pick when practicing Travis picking, playing my scales, and also the bar chords... it actually feels pretty natural go figure...... but not so good when I am playing slide..... wishing everyone a peaceful and productive NEW YEAR. Excited to see what it will bring for all of us 😉.
@Deb Thank you for the wonderful feedback! That means so much to know that these lessons have helped you through a few tough weeks. We're glad to have you in the Fam and look forward to continuing to support you in any way we can.
@Deb Anderson Lucky! I had such a hard time getting used to thumb picks. But seriously... That's so great to hear Deb. Starting with those Slick Picks really helps. Thanks for the support. We are excited to progress with you on the guitar this year Deb.
@Nate Savage just wanted to let you know I picked my PRS I keep tuned up in E and started working on playing Little Martha with the thumb pick this morning. Have to slow it way down BUT think that is a good thing and I am able to get the bass in which makes the high notes really ring out. Thought you would like to know about the progress I am making adding the thumb pick element and looking forward to the finger style courses you are working on. Also... working on the thumb pick with the Travis picking exercises we have been working on together... yayyyyyy thank you for all you and @Chelsea Amber do to inspire us!!!!! Best to you both.
Oh yes! fingerstyle course! i will get it for sure!!!
@Line Robidas Yeah, it's going to be a big project, but it's one of my main goals for 2021.
