Hey Everyone, I'm Johnny aka J.Rod.
Been playing guitar on and off for more years then I care to remember and still regret the mostly "off" time. ugh.
Anyway, one day being really frustrated with my playing, I came across Nates youtube channel, which then led to his awesome guitar system and it was that moment that everything changed for me. His approach really connected with me, and right then and there I decided I was going to completely dedicate the time needed to reach the level that I should be playing at. Years later I can now say it was the best decision I made and it eventually paid off!
Though its a never ending learning process for me, I'm definitely very proud of myself for not ever giving up and for how far I've come since then.
That said, thank you Nate! Couldn't be happier for you and Chelsea! Glad to now part of your new GuitarFam website! You'll always have my support! 😎 ❤️ 🎸 🎶 ✨
Thanks so much for sharing this!! We're so grateful for your support and to have you as part of the fam. Your kind words are a real encouragement as we kick off this new adventure!
What up J.Rod. So nice to hear from you and see you in the forum. Thanks so much for all of your support over the years. I'm so glad that you continue to get so much out of the lessons. Without people like you I wouldn't be able to do this.
Hey J.Rod
great to see you here. Looking forward to some good times here.
Likewise David! Good to see you here as well, and yes looking forward to some good times indeed! :-)

Hey Danphne! Good to see you here as well!! :-)
Hello J.Rod

Likewise Jean! Glad to see you on here as well! It's definitely feeling like a family reunion, so good call to @Nate and @Chelsea on the website name ha! :-)
JRod
great to hear from you and still plugging away on Red, Red Roses. It's still rough and suppose i should put more effort into it...
@Norm Good to hear from you! I was recently asking about you and wondering when you were going join us! Ha!
That said, glad to hear you'r still plugging away at the Red, Red, Wine song! Know that some songs take a us bit longer than others so don't ever let that discourage you. Also a lot can come from that longer process and we all experience it.
PS Now we just need to get Vincent and Natacha here! ;-) lol
As I was telling David, I clicked the "join" button when I first got the email. Filled everything out and sent it then got message to check mail "confirm" joining. Never got an email with the confirmation notice and that was because it went to Spam folder and I never checked it.... DUH.....
anyway all set and ready to go....
main issue with Wine is I can't get the amp to sound like the song...gotta keep playin with the knobs. I am playing Db-tGb-Ab but still can't grasp he Triads so playing the bar chords.
anyway good to hear from you
Always have to check that junk mail box every so often ha! lol
Let us know what amp you're using. I'm sure @Nate can give some suggestions to help dial in a better sound. I haven't played or heard the song since I last helped with it, but I do remember it having a mellow synth like sound. I'll have to take a listen and maybe it's a good time for me to relearn it again as well. ha! lol
Also Bar Chords, open chords and or Triads is all good. Whatever works for you. Also I wouldn't worry too much about sounding exactly like the record for now. Just keep messing with those dials and try changing the pick up selector as well going with whatever sounds good to your ears. Just have fun with it. :-)
