2020/2021 is an interesting year filled with obstacles but also of potential growth. Months ago I was laid off from my job and having difficulty finding a new one, but with this new found extra time in my life I plan on using it to grow myself as a person in all aspects.
One major obstacle that I'm overcoming (still struggling with a bit) is getting rid of the perfectionist mentality. I want to post complete guitar covers but I find myself comparing myself to other youtubers...with my brain telling myself "They didn't mess up, their tone is perfect, you can't sing like they do, nobody will watch your covers because they aren't good, etc" these thoughts lead to paralysis and to inability to play/memorize complete songs.
With all that said my goals for the year is to:
Cover more singer/songwriter songs and post them to youtube
Learn less popular guitar solos by ear and then post them to youtube (with tabs so other people can learn from my channel)
Grow my youtube channel enough to monetize and start earning a living doing what I love
I'll be posting my videos here to keep track of my journey and hope that it will keep me motivated and accountable. If anyone has any tips to help me get better then please let me know. I'm new to singing and I just want to get better.

Hey @Ghost: I'm a Fan; I like both of these a LOT!
BTW, there's a video here where @Nate Savage and @Chelsea Amber talk about not comparing yourself to anyone other than yourself from the day before. That is excellent advice, and food for thought!

This is awesome! I love that you're posting regularly on YouTube. It's a lot of work, so good job! Guitar Fam has just subscribed to your channel. :)
I can definitely relate to the struggle with comparison and it's something I actively have to fight regularly. As @Irwin1957 mentioned, something @Nate and I try to keep in mind is to only compare ourselves to who we were yesterday.
I think that's really cool that you're new to singing too! Here are a couple great YouTube channels that I've found really useful for my own development:
