So yesterday while practicing a song for Open Mic I was having some difficulties with some vocals. Then I thought about the notes in the chord I was playing. So I began picking the notes and found that the notes I was looking for were the 5th and Root. I put this to work and wahla; it worked.

So I was wondering do singers practice vocals by using the notes in the chord? Arpeggios?

so when I’m trying to pick some arpeggio, should I listen to the vocals and try to match them?
