I was just thinking about tuning and wondered if you have a go to method of tuning. There are so many, I’ve been playing around with lots of them this past year.

I use lots depending on the situation. If I’m just having a quick practice, I use my faithful Polytune clip, and check with the 5th fret method.

I use the harmonic method at frets 5&7. (Learned that from Nate.). I sometimes tune the 5th string to A440, check the 12th fret harmonic and the fretted note, then use this string as my reference to tune the other strings from.

Recently I’ve discovered the James Taylor method and I really like it. Sounds lovely.
