MUST HAVE TRAIT for any guitarist

This "eat a turkey" week taught me a great lesson: if I am to graduate from Module One and attain a level of expertise that I envision, the one trait I must have is "stickability"

Definitely a guitar must be seen as "crack" and one must develop an addiction towards it -- and not let anything keep you from daily practice -- else you'll never get past beginner status 😭

Not happy that for days I've abandoned my lonely guitar, due to turkey day made a turkey out of me, I shall now become an addict.

Have you ever heard of an addict taking a day off from his drugs? Neither have I.

I even turned over management of my nationwide biker ministry to a close friend so now I can focus on my newly found addiction.

All great accomplishments started with a vision, I believe, and turning it into reality is made possible by daily implementation.

I've fallen behind so much that sadly I will not be able to partake in the Xmas song collaboration 😢

Not long ago, as I was looking around the room seeing six guitars, several amps, and other gadgets, I asked myself who am I fooling? They were not bought for decoration purposes. Made it worse when Nate's Blues Blueprint course was placed next to it.

So this past October, I prayed hard for God to give me a sign: should I take up another hobby or start vibrating those guitar strings.

Two days later, I found this forum, and met wonderful and experienced guitar pros, and a very cool blues course.

So now I know .... Sticking to daily practice is the MUST HAVE TRAIT to advance, no matter what... Sudden death should not even keep you from it.... Last I heard most famous blues players are jamming in heaven. I wonder if that's what delaying Jesus from coming back 🤔.

And that's my two cents.

Regular forced vaccines of stickability will surely cure procrastination

Amen

@Jesus Prieto You are right. I think two of the biggest keys to getting better are consistent practice and narrowing your focus. My biggest times of growth on the guitar have been when I do these two things together.
