The MOVE that Killed the Progress
Hey everyone!! I am back.
FIRST
Last year i joined this wonderful community and my guitar playing journey was on a roll -- then I made a MOVE that killed my personal learning progress ... ouch!!
I moved from one location to another, and once at the new location, most of my things were in boxes. all of my guitar accessories, and my guitar also, were in boxes. And as many people know, it takes a while to go thru every box to take out things and organize them in the new residence.
After a ton of me convincing myself that "I'll get to it tomorrow", many moons passed, and so did the days, weeks, and months went by before i realized that it was not COVID that i was suffering from: it was severe procrastination!!
So some days back, my dog (who hates the sound from my amp) was standing near a box, wagging his as if it was a drum stick banging on a box .... that box is were my guitar things were placed it .... and so I immediately snapped out of the "procrastination" which was triggered from my MOVE to another location ... I renewed my membership here and now I am back on track.
Lesson learned (at least for me) is that no matter what NEVER EVER put the guitar away, nor the amp or the other accessories. BEST to keep it all out in the open, even after relocating, to serve as a visual reminder of your musical goal. Settling in at a new location will definitely take a toll on your focus, your energy, triggering procrastination.
Sadly
But coming here again, reading the posts on the forum, acted as the vaccine that I needed because it really worked. I am --once again-- picking myself up and giving it another try. I aim to become a great Hound for the Blues and finish the course.
Years back I read somewhere that a person is not a loser UNTIL he or she gives up.
So I got up from the floor, dusted off the procrastination, and rejoined this community.
SECOND
I lost my metronome, and started browsing YouTube for recommendation for a good one, so I can get into the groove again, but I ran into this:
Would greatly appreciate your thoughts on this
Should I still buy one or not?
Thank You
Thanks
Gracias
I do use both a metronome and drum tracks. I use a metronome more often just because the metronome app on my phone is more readily available, straightforward, quicker, and more convenient. Choices choices... ;)
