David has been writing songs and I saw that Holgar is working on songwriting. I have also started to work on Songwriting. I thought it would be good to start a thread with ideas and resources for songwriting. I have written down ideas for songs for a long time. I have also written a few lyrics but I haven't written a whole song yet. One night I started singing lyrics I had started to write over a chord progression and it was so fun. I watched this video by Lindsey Ell and found it very helpful. In that video, Lindsey Ell talked about the Nashville Numbering System. That inspired me to watch a video on the Nashville Numbering System. I also looked up chord progressions I could use for songs. My first goal is to write one song. I have a few ideas and I need to narrow it down to one. I also need to pick a chord progression for that song.
