I came across this video where the bass player Victor Wooten talks about the difference between playing and practicing I watched the video and realized that I had spent a lot of time practicing and not enough time playing. I have also realized that practicing more than playing had made me feel burned out. I think practice is also important. However, I am realizing I need to make sure I make some time to play whatever is fun in the moment. I am thinking about leaving room in my practice sessions to do things like noodling over scales, playing riffs I enjoy, or playing songs I know and like.
