week 4: this week focuses on flats and sharps with the Gb/F# major scale. this week will require finding the same notes, first as sharps, then as flats. the notes for Gb major scale are: Gb, Ab, Bb, Cb, Db, Eb, and F. the F# scale conains:F#, G#, A#, B, C#, D#, and E#. note that in Gb major we have a Cb which is the same as a B. in the F# major scale we have an E# which is the same as an F. you may want to spread this over two weeks, working on flats one week and sharps the next. the triads are:
Gb major: Gb, Bb, Db
F# major: F#, A#, C#
Eb minor: Eb, Gb, Bb
D# minor: D#, F#, A#
Db major: Db, F, Ab
C# major: C#, E#, G#
Cb major: Cb, Eb, Gb
B major: B, D#, F#
F diminished: F, Ab, Cb
E# diminished: E#, G#, B
Bb minor: Bb, Db, F
A# minor: A#, C#, E#
Ab minor: Ab, Cb, Eb
G# minor: G#, B, D#
A great exercise to get to know those sharps and flats!
