August 12, 2024:

First entry into my journal. I have been mucking around a Guitar for many years and have never learn a song that I could actually play. I have been with Guitar Famly for several months and I am still only noodling. Lately I have been particularly in a 12 week Growth Group with Nate and Chelsea, our instructors and Growth Group facilitators. The first 7 weeks I was hospitalized, recovering and generally moping around. Thus it was easy to avoid Guitar practice. The last 4 weeks I have been making better use of my time and doing better practice time with my guitar. Week 11 I actually practiced consistently 5 out of the 7 days. I also made an attempt to video my playing and singing "Have You Ever Ssen the Rain by CCR. I tried to post it without success. Not sure why but thing I was using an improper link. Going to include it in this post. Four reasons: First, I want to truly participate in the Guitar Family with genuine evidence I'm trying. Second, I'm going to use this journal as a means of accountability for myself for learning to really play guitar. Third, I will post a weekly video for record of whatever I'm doing. Fourth, the friends I have made through this GrowthGroup are given permission to hold me accountable. The purpose: to truly advance in Guitar skills and singing.
