October 2023:
Here we are in mid October and I still haven't posted an official video. Working with a teacher 1:1 for the past several months. His teaching style is very different to that of any of my previous teachers that I have had in person. Working on all of the above songs and with the teacher specifically on #4 and #5. Also working on scales and reading music/timing. It's a slow process but I am happy with it all in all. One day I will suprise everyone including myself and I will post a video.

June 2023:
So we are into June, and I am honestly still at this. I am continuing on GuitarFam with my ๐Heroes Nate and Chelsea and all of the material on GuitarFam. I haven't even started the Fingerstyle Master Class yet that i purchased some while ago; want to purchase the Strumming Dr. and the others at some point too. I just signed up for in person learning again (after 3+ years off) and started with my instructor on Thursday. My focus is to learn songs, songs, songs - apparently I can't do that on my own very well ๐. For once, I wasn't trembling, sweating and embarassed - at least not too much. No idea how long this will take but I am pleased that I am moving forward.
I read your "About" introduction. A good read Helene. I have a difficult time remembering songs too and have to have the music in front of me. I have noticed, when attending Open Mics or a music venue, many singers need their music. So it is not unusual or a bad thing. But I do believe you have greater freedom when you can sing and play without it. For strumming patterns I am discovering the best way to get it is to strum on muted strings and say the pattern out loud like "down, down, up down up, down up, slowly, then gradually faster before trying to fit it to a chord. Next I try to fit it to a slow metronome beat. It's tedious but I do get better results. Good luck with your journey.
