Hi, I'm Trishul
Hi All,
I joined GuitarFam after seeing a post on the "site that shall not be named" :)
I was mostly a lurker on that site mostly because I was (and still am) wrapping my head around most things being discussed. I had taken Nate's AGME course on that website. I couldn't keep up with the timelines of that course but am forever thankful since it gave me the confidence to pick up my acoustic and keep practicing - no matter how horrible I sounded. Things have improved since then. I have gone through a few guitars and having decided to keep just one, I have finally found my holy grail in a MIM Fender Roadhouse Deluxe Strat (pic attached). I don't have a real amp, but for my practice sessions, running it through an iRig paired with a headphone and Ampkit / Amplitude on my phone does its job and lets me practice after the family has gone to sleep.

I have also started listening to more of my current favorite genre - blues. In addition to the usual greats like the Kings I have discovered some lesser known artists such as Skip James, Lil Green , Annie Laurie and the more recent and I think thoroughly promising youngster: Christone "Kingfish" Ingram.. Heck, I even attended Joe Bonamassa's virtual event this year (first ever anything live performance attendance for me).
I couldn't have written the above paragraphs had I not started with Nate's course and thus my conclusion that things have progressed for "me" :)
I'd love to hear from the GuitarFam community what others are listening to and am very open to suggestions.
I am now determined to learn at least a few scales by the end of the year. Nate's (and Chelsea's) practice template / getting most out of practice session videos couldn't have come at a better time.
I am extremely thankful for those and really wish you guys the best for this new forum.
Looking forward to learning and staying more engaged with the community!
Trishul,
Nice Strat! I my myself play a Fender strat as well, as do my very favorite players like Hendrix, SRV and Mayer to name a few. I've also found ways to play in my NYC apartment without annoying my neighbors using Bias amp 2, bias FX and my small BlackStar amp with headphones ha! lol
Anyway, good to see that you're staying focused and continually pushing forward. Also finding that guitar that you absolutely love just like I did as well helps tremendously and will definitely motivate you even more so good call on that one!
Wishing you continued progress! You're definitely at the right place! :-)
