Recording myself
One of my goals is to learn how to record myself. I had wanted to start playing open mics but with Covid, venues are shut down in my state. I wanted to do something to push myself and learn to perform. I also wanted to do what I can to grow as a musician even though I can't play open mics yet. I have been thinking about learning to record myself and post more videos of my music. I have an interface, and I bought a vocal mic and a guitar mic. I need to get 2 mic stands and decide what DAW to use. Then I need to hook it all up and start learning how to record. I have downloaded Audacity and looked at Band Lab. I also want to look at Cakewalk. I had made a list of DAWs to look at and forgot what others I want to check out.
I love this idea! My main motivation for learning and posting cover songs on YouTube is to learn and grow. It feels good to put out a complete product at the end of my learning.
We've been using Logic and DaVinci Resolve for all our YouTube and course videos. Seems to be working well. :)
Will you be posting videos on YouTube? I know @Donny is looking to connect with fellow students via YouTube. Feel free to post your videos in the "Personal Progress Journal" thread so we can watch, subscribe and cheer you on!
