Wireless Review
I’ve gone wireless for 3 weeks now and love it. Figured I review my equipment now that I’ve used it 10 times. Being wireless allows me to move around and I feel more comfortable being able to move and i can also look wherever I want (crowd, guitar, etc) and stay in front of mic unlike a wired mic on a stand. The ease of portability is important to me. I don’t have to make any extra trips to the car, as I carry my guitar in 1 hand and the Busker Amp and the wireless systems in the other, all in 1 trip. Takes me less than 5 minutes to get setup (take guitar out of case, remove Xvive from case & plug in then get headset out of case and put on and plugged in. Turn on the Busker Amp, tune guitar and go). Pricing did not break the bank: Total with TT&L (Tax, Title & License 😂) was US$858.
The Alto Busker PA Speaker is so light and the size is perfect. The volume is plenty good for my needs right now at the Assisted Living Facility I play at weekly. The sound is great. The built in mixer is simple and straight forward yet includes several FX settings.
The Xvive U2 guitar system is even easier & straight forward. It has 4 channels to use in case someone else has wireless to avoid conflict. But I usually am performing solo. I joined in with a band at a local joint last week and it was receiving interference from the Lead Guitarists wireless (different brand) and changing channels did not resolve the issue so I had to plug in. But I love this as I don’t have a cable getting in the way. Sounds the same as using a cable. The transmitter & receiver stay paired so when I turn them on all I have to do is play.
The Samson Airline Micro headset/Mic is also plug and play. The headset/transmitter & receiver stay paired as well so just turn on and go. The only wire i have when I perform is from the receiver to the speaker. It took me a couple minutes the first time I used it to figure out the best way to fit the headset on that stayed secure, but now I know and it stays secure and doesn’t move around nor feel like it’s coming off. So light and comfortable I don’t even think about it while playing. The On/Off button on the headset is also the mute button so with 1 press I can mute and talk to someone or maybe clear my throat. Sounds like any other mic. I guess a drawback is that you can’t move away from the mic to vary your volume but I don’t use that technique for my vocals.
