guitar repair question

a friend gave me an old lyle acoustic 12-string humming bird edition guitar last week. cosmetically she's got some face scars, a chipped fret inlay, and the frets are worn a bit, but generally ok condition... it will still play... however, one of the tuning machine mounts (first g string) has a stripped screw and won't hold a tune most of the time until fixed.

my normal inclination for wood is to putty, tap, and screw, but the holes here are pretty small for putty. i'm thinking of just using wood glue, gorilla, or locktite (or super glue) to glue the screw in place... not like i plan to ever take remove the tuning machine.

anyone done this before? any suggestions or advice?

i don't think it will take much to keep the machine in place as it can hold a tune now if the machine is held in place while tuning.

here's the guitar...

i plan to use this guitar to work on my strumming.
