Yamaha Pacifica 112 Mod

I finished the mod of my Yamaha Pacifica 112.  My goal was to replace its inexpensive HSS pickups and electronics with vintage Fender Fat '50s pickups and convert it to a traditional SSS Strat design.

It turned out very nice.  The sound is terrific.  I think putting in copper shielding definitely reduced the hum from the pickups.

This guitar was made in 1996 and similar models sell for around $330 today.  I inherited it when my guitar buddy Dave passed away.  The natural grain of the body always wowed me but the sound was just so-so.  The entire project cost $473 - way more than the guitar is worth.  But I learned a lot and now I have a guitar that I can play and fondly remember my friend.  So it’s all worth it.

Man @Jim Mrvos This looks super-clean! I've been "forced" into doing some pretty hardcore maintenance on some of my guitars this past week. I guess I'm trying to take a page from your playbook and pay more attention to detail... must be my old age. ;)

$473 is a bargain for this experience to me.
