@Nate Savage when you play it slowly, you show holding the pinky down on the 8th fret for 3 notes, as shown in the tab, but when you play it fast, you lift your pinky after playing the dg and put it back down for the ddg, that means you are playing f# a, and thus the tab should read 5 over 7 instead of 5 over 8.
