"Learning the CAGED system with Nate unlocked the guitar fretboard for me."
I came to Nate with some basic open chords, two barre chords, and one pentatonic scale. Nate used CAGED to turn that into a more complete understanding of the fretboard. Now I can visualize how chords, scales, and riffs connect when I learn and play a song. This was completely out of my reach before Nate introduced me to CAGED.

Important questions you may have before grabbing access to the CAGED Roadmap course:
Q: Is this course for beginner or advanced players? A: The nature of the CAGED System makes the CAGED Roadmap course great for beginner, intermediate and advanced players. Most guitarists will want to go through it multiple times depending on their current skill level. Ideally, you'll want to be able to strum through songs using open chords and basic E and A shape bar chords before you start. If you're not there yet, the free Guitar Foundations course and the Bar Chord Masterclass will get you ready, and both come with Premium membership.
Q: What if the course doesn’t work for me? A: We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. All we ask is that you give the course a genuine effort.
Q: What if I need extra help with a specific topic or skill? A: There are many ways to get support: submitting videos for feedback, the Guitar Fam forum, email help, or even private lessons with Nate.
Q: What’s the difference between Lifetime Access and Premium Membership? A: Lifetime Access ($397) gives you permanent access to the course. The Premium Membership ($129/year) gives you access to the full Guitar Fam library, including this course, and our monthly Growth Group, for one year.
Q: How does this help me play the songs I want? A: The CAGED Roadmap helps you develop a bird's-eye overview of the entire guitar neck, so you won't be stuck using the same old chord shapes. You’ll also get cover song recommendations as you go. Head to the “Songs” page on GuitarFam.com to find and learn songs that inspire you.
Q: What if I feel like I'm too old to learn the CAGED System? A: We help older students learn the guitar all of the time, and we built the CAGED Roadmap to start with what almost every guitarist knows: open chords. As long as you know your basic open chords, you can learn the CAGED System!
Q: Do I need to know music theory first? A: No. The course explains everything you need as you go, including how major and minor chords are built, and includes The Major Key Codec so you can look up any key at a glance. If you want to go deeper on the theory side, the Music Theory Guidebook covers it and comes with Premium membership.
Go anywhere on the neck with total confidence.

WELCOME!
I'm Nate Savage.
Co-Founder of the Guitar Fam
I've spent 30+ years playing guitar, and I've hit plenty of brick walls myself. My first week of jazz band in college, staring at chords I was sure I'd never remember. Trying to solo over simple chord changes and getting no good answer from guitarists I respected. Learning triads, and feeling hopeless about the memorization those mysterious little shapes seemed to require.
I wasn't short on effort or information. I was short on a framework that tied the new material back to something I already knew.
That's what the CAGED Roadmap does. Chord shapes, progressions, triads, and arpeggios in any position on the neck, all related back to the open chords you already play. It changed the way I see the guitar forever, and it can do the same for you.
If you're willing to spend 15 to 30 minutes a day, 4 to 6 days a week, you can absolutely reach the level you've always wanted. We'll be here to help you every step of the way.
Nate
