The resources for the 2023 Guitar Fam Christmas Collaboration are up and ready for you to download. This year, we are doing “A Holly Jolly Christmas” by Burl Ives in the key of G major.
The submission deadline is December 7th. That gives everyone over a month to get their videos together. If you have any questions about how to record yourself or submit your video, just send us a message.
Your version doesn’t have to be perfect or fancy. A simple video with your phone will do just fine. Make sure to play along to the jam track using headphones if possible. That will make editing everyone's version together a lot easier for me.
I should also mention that there are two versions of the jam track. The first one is with no guitar, and the second version has the vocals taken out as well. This is a great one to use if you plan on singing for your submission. support@guitarfam.com
If you’d like to play this in the original key of C major, you can just put a capo on the 5th fret and play the G shapes in this lesson. Careful though, the Burl Ives version modulates to the key of C# major half way through the song.
