Hi fam,
Do you ever feel like you need a break from practicing guitar? I recently had two private lesson students who brought this topic up with me, so I figured I would use their stories to start a conversation on this topic.
There are a million reasons we could need to take some time away from the guitar, and that’s okay. We could be burnt out, frustrated with our lack of progress, or simply in a very busy stage of life, but taking a break doesn’t necessarily mean that we will loose all of the ground that we fought so hard to gain. In fact, taking a break can make us more productive in the long run as long as we have a consistent and effective practice routine as an underlying foundation for our progress.
Some of the benefits of taking short or longer breaks from the guitar are perspective, physical recovery, and inspiration. These are covered more in the video. Let me know your thoughts and experiences in the comments. I’m looking forward to reading them.
Thanks for watching,
Nate
