I just sold my HX Stomp and Tonex pedal because I heard that Kemper was coming out with the compact Profile Player for a reasonable price. I’ve always wanted a Kemper but didn’t want to pay $2,000 - $3,000 for one. The profile player is $698, so that made it feasible for me. Luckily, Chelsea still has her Tonex pedal, so that made it possible for me to do a little comparison video between these two units.Â
If you are wondering if you should buy the Kemper or the Tonex, I can tell you that I think they both sound and feel equally good. The main thing to consider is what you need the unit to do. If you need an all-in-one pedal-sized unit that does everything, then the Kemper is probably the way to go. If you need a unit that has great amp sounds but want to keep using your other delay and reverb pedals, the Tonex might suit you better.Â
