"Let It Be" Solo

Let’s take a look at the solo from the iconic Beatles song “Let It Be”. This is a great opportunity to dig into the major pentatonic scale and learn the nuts and bolts of how it works. The jam track and TAB are available here on this page for you to download.

Here is the deal. Learning how to play solos and improvise with big box scale shapes can be difficult. It’s way easier when you break things down into smaller fragments that you can wield and actually use to make great music.

In this video, we are going to use a very small major pentatonic fragment that George Harrison used to play around 90% of this solo. If you can understand how this little box works, it will make it much easier to play solos like this and improvise your own solos over pop/rock solos in major keys.

Give it a go, and let us know what you think. There are more cover song lessons coming to the site very soon. Let us know if you have any questions on this one. support@guitarfam.com

Thanks,
Nate

Hello Nate,

I viewed your lesson for "Let It Be" and was very impressed with your teaching method / style. I was also surprised at how much information you provided. Do you have a video lesson for "Can't Buy Me Love"? I have working on that song-- off and on -- for a long time. Anyway, thanks for producing a nicely done guitar lesson. I'll probably become a subscriber as soon as I can work into my budget.

I've always loved this solo! There are at least three versions of the Let It Be solo that George recorded. This one if definitely my favorite.

Thanks Nate!

Yeah, I didn't realize that there were three until I started doing research for this video. So cool. Glad I picked your fav.
