"Take It Easy" Guitar Solo

Hi fam,

Here is the next famous guitar solo video lesson for you. This time we are looking at “Take It Easy” by the Eagles.

This one can be deceptively easy sounding, but there is a lot going on here. The chord progression isn’t too complicated, but the chords whizz by pretty fast. Joe Walsh does a legendary job of changing pentatonic scales and arpeggios over the chords while making a memorable melody that has stood the test of time.

To make learning as easy as possible, we have the video, jam track, and TAB for you here on this page. We also decided to put not only the TAB but also the pentatonic scale being used for each lick on the screen. That will make things as clear as possible.

This is a challenging solo, but it’s great to start learning how to use pentatonic scales to play over chord changes.

Give it a go, and let us know if you have any questions or guitar solo video suggestions.

Nate

Thanks so much for this great lesson Nate! I have to play this song at a major event in a couple weeks time, and time was running out to learn the solo! You have made my job that much easier! Much gratitude!

Nate,

You instruction is awesome, how you breakdown the licks and explaining how the notes correspond to the passing chords is spot on. Have learned a lot from y'all

I love the Eagles and would love to learn an acoustic version of the song.
