"Windy and Warm"
Hey Guitar Fam. I'm excited to bring you this lesson on the classic fingerstyle guitar song "Windy & Warm" written by John D. Loudermilk. This version is based on Doc Watson's performances with a couple of my own little twists.
When I was younger, I thought I would never be able to play this song because it sounded so difficult. Well, it took me a long time to get it down, but I think it's a great example of how setting a goal and working toward it can yield some nice results. There are lots more fingerstyle songs like this coming to the site soon, so keep an eye out for those.
The full TAB/notation is here for you. Take it one tiny piece at a time and practice it SLOWLY! These two tips will help you get it down faster. This is a tough one, so be patient with yourself. Let us know if you have any questions, need any help, or want to schedule a private lesson with me. support@guitarfam.com Good luck! You can do it.
Unable to download the jam track - nothing happens when I click the button there and I've tried everything.
I've been working on this one for a few months now. It's a very nicely full yet simplified version - best I've found for beginner level after looking at several versions now. Will post a progress vid this week to hopefully get me back on track with it after letting it lapse for a while.
Love this one also! thank you for doing this, and there is a song that I would really like a fingerstyle tutorial for: The Closer I Get To You by Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway. Would really love if you could tackle this one! Cheers
Awesome, that's one I've wanted to learn for years.
I'm glad I found your website😂
