"All the licks & solos are outstanding and worth the cost of admission alone."

Not only does this course teach solos and licks, but you will actually learn how the solos are constructed so you understand the how and why. You'll even be able to compose your own solos from scratch and figure out your favorite artist’s solos.

The use of pentatonic scales and shapes was eye-opening to say the least. I loved learning to use double stops and use them often. I love to use the turnarounds taught when jamming. B.B.’s Box is a must-have in your arsenal.

I highly recommend the Blues Hound Course, and I will be going through it again to refresh and pick up some things I’m sure I missed.

Phase 1 - Blues Rhythm Guitar

Everybody wants to solo. But the guy who can hold down a rhythm is the guy who gets asked back. This is where the whole thing starts, and it's the most important module in the course.

Build the rhythm foundation that makes you a player other people want to jam with.

  • Get the 12-bar blues so far under your fingers you could play it in your sleep

  • Start building your shuffle feel — the thing that separates blues from just notes

  • Learn 3 essential blues riffs you can pull out the second someone says "blues in A"

What do you get with it?
  • All 15 phases of the Blues Hound course — Video lessons and practice sessions with tabs and jam tracks, so you always know what to work on and when to move on.

  • The 128-page companion ebook — Notation and tabs for every exercise, all in one place so you can follow along.

  • Jam tracks at multiple tempos — Every rhythm part and solo comes with a backing track, in more than one tempo, so you can start where you are and speed up as you go.

  • The Blues Hound listening playlist — The blues I was listening to while writing and filming this course, so you can start building your ear and your blues vocabulary from day one.

  • The Blues Hound forum group — A dedicated space for blues players inside the Guitar Fam forum. Ask questions, post progress videos, and watch the replays of all 8 past mastermind sessions.

  • All the support you need — If you run into a tough spot or just need some feedback, I am here for you. You can email me directly, post in the Guitar Fam forum, or even send in a video for review.

  • A complimentary private lesson — If you really need some extra help, you can book a private lesson with me. The first one is complimentary, so it's a great way to iron out any issues or clean up any bad habits.

By the end of the Blues Hound you will be able to:

01

Play blues riffs and chord progressions

so you can hold down the rhythm and be the guitarist other people want to jam with.

04

Use major and minor pentatonics & arpeggios

to come up with new and interesting-sounding guitar solos.

02

Confidently navigate your way through blues solos

without freezing up or not knowing what to play.

05

Master articulations like bending and vibrato

so your blues playing sounds confident and professional.

03

Solo over blues chord changes

so you can express yourself without feeling like you are just playing scales.

06

Hear a lick and find it on the guitar

using the ear training lessons, so you can figure out your favourite solos for yourself.

30 Days

Plus, You'll Be Backed by a Risk-Free 30-Day Money Back Guarantee

When you purchase the Blues Hound course, you will have 30 days to make sure it works for you. If you put in the time, I am confident that you will start to see results and be on your way to playing the blues like you've always dreamed. If you don’t feel confident that you are progressing after you’ve done the work, simply contact us, and we'll refund your full investment, no questions asked.

Important questions you may have before grabbing access to the Blues Hound course:

Q: Is this course for beginner or advanced players? A: The Blues Hound course is for beginners all the way through an upper-intermediate level of playing. If you can already play SRV solos and understand everything that's going on with them, this isn't for you.

Q: What is included in the Blues Hound? A: You get access to the full Blues Hound course (15 Modules), replays of live mastermind sessions, the eBook, the exclusive Blues Hound forum, email support, jam tracks, and practice sessions.

Q: What if the course doesn’t work for me? A: We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. All we ask is that you give the course a genuine effort.

Q: What if I need extra help with a specific topic or skill? A: There are many ways to get support: submitting videos for feedback, the Guitar Fam forum, email help, or even private lessons with Nate.

Q: What’s the difference between Lifetime Access and Premium Membership? A: Lifetime Access ($397) gives you permanent access to the course. The Premium Membership ($129/year) gives you access to the full Guitar Fam library, including this course, and our monthly Growth Group, for one year.

Q: How does this help me play the songs I want? A: The Blues Hound breaks the blues down to the most foundational parts of music. Once you understand these smaller elements, playing more complicated and advanced songs becomes more doable.

Q: What if I feel like I'm too old to learn the blues? A: We help older students learn the guitar all of the time, and we built the Blues Hound to start from the ground up. It has guided practice sessions, jam tracks and the eBook to make learning as easy as possible.

Q: How much time do I need to dedicate to this to see progress? A: If you’re willing to spend 20–30 minutes a day, 4–6 days a week, you can absolutely unlock the ability to play intentional blues solos. I’ll be straight with you, though: getting genuinely good at the blues takes somewhere between six months and a year and a half of consistent practice. Write down your commitment level, stick it somewhere you’ll see it, and try not to evaluate your overall progress for at least the first six months.

Q: What is the Blues Hound forum group? A: It’s a dedicated space inside the Guitar Fam forum just for blues players, so you’re learning alongside others who “get it.” Ask questions when you get stuck, post progress videos, cheer each other on, and watch the replays of all 8 past mastermind sessions. You get access with either Premium membership or lifetime access to the course.

Q: Do I need to know music theory first? A: No. There’s a full module on blues theory built into the course, covering major scales, minor and major pentatonics, the blues scale, and how major, minor and dominant 7th chords are made. You’ll want to be comfortable changing between your open chords and basic bar chord shapes before you start.

No more freezing when someone hands you the guitar.

The blues jams are waiting. Start showing up as the guitarist you always knew you could be.

Best friends, musician jamming together. Playing music on guitar together, having fun. Con

WELCOME!

I'm Nate Savage.

Co-Founder of the Guitar Fam

I’ve spent 30+ years playing guitar, and for a long stretch of that I could not make the blues sound like the blues. I knew the pentatonic shapes. I thought if I kept drilling them, things would sort themselves out. They never did.

So I started taking the blues apart for myself, trying to work out why the notes my heroes played sounded so good and mine didn’t.

Two things turned it around. The answer wasn’t in the big scale shapes, it was in small usable fragments and in the chords I was playing over. And rhythm came first. The guitarist who can hold down a shuffle is the one who gets asked back, and everything in soloing got easier once the rhythm side was solid.

That’s what the Blues Hound is built on. It’s a clear 15-phase system that takes you from wishing you could solo to showing up confidently at a blues jam.

One more thing. The name is the point. You’re the Blues Hound. This course gives you the tools, the theory and the ear, so you can hunt down the blues you want to play for the rest of your growth as a guitarist.

If you’re willing to put in 20 to 30 minutes of practice per day, 4 to 6 times per week, you can become the blues player you always knew you could be. I’ll be there to support you every step of the way.
