Hello Guitar Fam!!
Hi everyone! My name is Chris and I came here via Guitareo. I have Acoustic Guitar Made Easy taught by Nate. I love his teaching style. Learning to play guitar can be overwhelming for absolute beginners, especially old dudes like me š. Nate breaks it down in a way that gives me confidence in my ability to learn to play.
Anyway, like I said, I'm a beginner. I've only been playing for 6 weeks, but I can definitely see progress. I've been focusing on learning and transitioning between open chords so that I can play some simple songs. My short term goal is to be able to play 3 - 5 songs by the end of summer. Ultimately, I want to learn finger picking so that I can play more complex songs on the acoustic guitar.
I'm looking forward to utilizing the Guitar Fam to supplement my learning.
Hey @Chris Morris welcome aboard, and you are definitely in a good place here! Nate and Chelea are amazing, as are the entire Fam!
So, six weeks in, I remember those early days, now that I'm at 2 years and 7 months. I think your strategy is dead on, focusing on open chords, and transitioning between them. Don't be afraid to take it very S-L-O-W in the beginning. Without a doubt, my biggest mistake was moving too quickly early on!
Keep us posted on how it goes for you!
