"Jingle Bell Rock"

If you’re looking to add a fun, upbeat Christmas classic to your playing this year, Jingle Bell Rock is a great choice. And today, I’m excited to share a brand-new rhythm guitar lesson for the Bobby Helms version—complete with all the resources you need to jump right in.

Why This Lesson?

There aren’t many rhythm-centered tutorials for this song, and several that do exist skip over some of the important groove and chord changes that make it sound authentic. So I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to create a clear, step-by-step lesson that helps you nail the feel of the original recording.

What to Expect

This arrangement uses quite a few chords, but don’t let that intimidate you.

You can learn it in two ways:

Use the full original chords if you’re ready for a challenge.

Swap in open chords for any shapes you don’t know yet.

Either approach will have you playing along confidently with the music.

What’s Included

Your lesson comes with a full set of resources:

🎥 Video tutorial breaking down the rhythm parts

🎼 TAB and chord chart

🎧 Two jam tracks to help you practice and build your groove

Everything is downloadable, so you can work on it at your own pace.

Give It a Try!

This is a great tune to share with family and friends during the holiday season—and a fun way to add a little rockabilly flair to your playing.

Let us know how it’s going as you learn the tune. We love seeing your progress.

And stay tuned… a full lead guitar lesson for Jingle Bell Rock is on the way soon!

Merry early Christmas,

Thank you! I remember singing this in our family car when it came on the car's AM only radio. It was quite a hit and really fun to sing along with. Our family probably sounded pretty bad, but it was a lot of fun.
